Vegetables contain large amounts
of vitamins and minerals. They are rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron,
beta-carotene, vitamin B-complex, vitamin-C, vitamin A, and vitamin K. They
have antioxidants that help to protect the body from diseases and increase the
body’s immune system. Vegetables are high in fibre which aids the body maintain
balance and provide valuable nutrients to the body. Furthermore vegetables are
low in fat and calories and help to reduce cholesterol, heart diseases and many
other illnesses.
Citrusspice is introducing a new
series of events called In my VEG BOX, This will be a monthly event where one
vegetable will be chosen to cook with.
The month of January (1st Jan -31st Jan 2014) In my VEG
BOX we shall have carrots. This event is all about cooking with carrots.
