I found a wicked recipe for microwave flapjacks – it takes longer for them to cool enough so you don't burn your mouth than it does to prepare and cook them. I had a very strange dish in the Middle East that tasted like a cinnamon spiced porridge and was served with some meals. It was made of ground meat, oats and spices and possibly a little honey as it was vaguely sweet all of which was pounded to a paste or cooked until completely mashed. It's the most odd thing I have ever been served as on its own it was not unpleasant but it did not seem to compliment anything on the table. I've found similar recipes called "Haleem" but they all appear more savoury in flavour than my encounters.
