OXO Mandoline Slicer Giveaway

Summer is all about salads and eating healthy, I love to make my salads interesting and eye catching so that not only do they look colorful but they look and taste great too.

The key to a pretty salad is to cut and slice the fruits and vegetables uniformly and neatly. This is when this easy to use simple mandoline slicer by OXO comes in handy.

There is no need to set up an electric gadget. This simple mandoline slicer is so quick to use that your salad will be made in a jiffy.

The mandoline slicer cuts perfect slices, you can adjust the thickness by using the simple slider to three different sizes and also adjust the setting to create julienne or put it on lock position for storage.
The mandoline has a soft handle and a non slip foot to steady it. This is particularly useful to steady the mandoline when slicing hard vegetables such as carrots and potatoes.

It also comes with a spring loaded food holder so that your fingers are protected from the sharp blades at all times. The food holder securely grips the food so that you can get maximum slices from it without waste.

Cleaning this mandoline is easy too, it just needs rinsing in soapy water as the blades are integrated, The feet fold away and the food holder fits onto the mandoline for easy storage.

I love this mandoline as there are no separate blades to mess with, no need for power and its portable so its perfect to take away on camping and self catering holidays. The mandoline comes in a neat box and is available on line or at any homebware store. It retails at £ 40.00

I was sent this OXO Simple Mandoline to test in my kitchen, all views expressed are of my own experience of the gadget.

As always I love my readers to have the opportunity to try out gadgets that I test in citrusspiceuk kitchens. OXO have been very generous and have agreed to send one citrusspice reader a mandoline for them to use in their kitchen too.

Giveaway ~KinderKitchen tools for kids from Kuhn Rikon.

I was introduced to cooking and kitchen chores from a very young age. I vividly remember standing on a stool at the sink rinsing cups whilst my mother washed them. I also remember standing on a stool next to my mum watching her whilst she prepared the dinner. My mum used to give me a butter knife to cut soft things with so that I could develop my chopping skills.

I too followed suit and introduced both my daughters to cooking at a very young age and I am really proud that they have both become very confident in the kitchen. Introducing kids to cook sets them up for life and nowadays so many companies are making available children friendly baking kits, utensils and even children friendly knives such as the new Kuhn Rikon Kinder Kitchen collection.

The KinderKitchen tools for kids is perfect for creating fun in the kitchen for small cooks and budding chefs. The New KinderKitchen range includes the new Dog Knives, available with serrated or non-serrated blades.

Both blades are made from durable Japanese stainless steel, strong enough to cut soft foods but not little fingers. The dog’s ears doubles as a hand guard.

The knives are 17cm in length, and they can be purchased separately or as a set which includes both knives and a pair KinderKitchen cutting shears.

The knives are available in purple and pink or blue and green. The knives are retailing at £7.95 each r can be bought as a pair for £14.95.

An additional set is available which also includes together with the knives the cutting shears which retails at £22.95

These lovely knives are safe for little fingers and are perfect to introduce knife skills to the youngest member of your family.

As always I love my readers to be able to sample products that I have tested in the citrusspice kitchens. KUHN Rikon have been really generous and will send one set of knives to a reader.

Monthly Samples Roundup

At citrusspice I often get sent some samples, treats and goodies from time to time. I love these little surprises that pop in through my letter box or often I am given them when I attend a press event. This monthly roundup is all about the little surprises I have been able to test and try out.

This Month I attended  an event hosted by The Bloggers Hangout. The event was held in London where a few brands got together to showcase their products. It was  great to meet  mingle amongst other bloggers and also talk to the brands showcasing their products and learning all about their products.
At the event I received some samples which I would like to showcase below.

Sass & Belle - You can get a beautiful collection of pretty and very unique gifts online.

In the picture you can see the lovely fishy shopping bag in a fishy pouch, a parrot emery board, a mini notebook nad pen and such a lovely flamingo glass.

I was over the moon with this amazing and really cute products in my goody bag.

Pink Parcel is a monthly subscription box that is created to make the monthly period better each month.

When you subscribe to the box, you choose your favorite brands of pads or tampons, select a date from three options that fall closest to your period and then sit back and relax until your parcel arrives.
In the box you get a selection of treats and beauty products to pamper yourself with to make that time f month a little bit more enjoyable. There is a beauty box with a selection of beauty products, a sweet treat and a mini pouch to discreetly carry your sanitary towel/tampon. The contents of the beauty box change each month. The beauty boxes retail at £ 10.50 which include postage.

T-TOX Matcha Tea is a superfood that is really healthy for your body. The Matcha tea comes in three different types; Matcha Health, Matcha Energise, Matcha Health

The Matcha  Tea has many health benefits such as:

Boosting metabolism and burning calories
Detoxifying effectively and naturally
Calming the mind and relaxing the body

It is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins and it
enhances mood and aids in concentration. The tea also
lowers cholesterol and blood sugar resulting in increased energy and less fatigue.

Regenerate Toothpaste and Boosting Serum acts on early invisible stages of enamel erosion. It helps to regenerate enamel by restoring its mineral content and micro hardness with regular use.

These tooth paste and serums are really great to keep the enamel on your teeth intact.

I also met the lovely Zen who is the creator of Hapiness Wherever She creates bespoke jewellery that is really pretty and very eye catching.

Whilst I was at the event Zen showed me how to create a pendant using wire and simple cord. Zen explained that the necklaces she made featured above are made with copper washers and are simple to join together but look stunning.

I would like to thank all the brands that provided me with these wonderful gifts.
