I am very lucky to live close to London. It allows me to do things like go shopping, go to the theatre, or meet friends for impromptu lunch or dinner dates in central London. I enjoy visiting new places as well as revisiting my favourite London restaurants. Below are a five of my favourite restaurants in London.
Rosa Thai Soho
For Thai food lovers, Rosa Thai Soho is conveniently located on Dean Street, just a short walk from China Town and London Theatre land. Its convenient location makes it easy for a quick bite after a show or a quick lunch during a shopping trip. There are plenty of vegetarian options available and the food is delicious. The restaurant is small and the tables are crowded together. However, it is not the type of restaurant to visit if you want a leisurely fine dining experience.

The Gate Islington
It is impossible to go hungry in the City of London; you will find cuisines from all over the world everywhere you turn. The Gate Islington is very close to Sadlers Wells Theatre, London Design Centre and Angel Station. The restaurant offers vegan and vegetarian options in a spacious, bright, and airy setting. The menu offers a wide variety of options and vegan wines and cocktails. Each dish is prepared with the utmost care and presented in a beautiful way. If you’re looking for a convenient London Restaurant to eat a light lunch or dinner, this is the place for you

Mayfair Pizza Co
Oxford Street and Bond Street are London’s main shopping streets. With so many shops to choose from, you can easily spend an entire day shopping. There are many quaint side streets leading off the main shopping area. These are the areas where you’ll find some exclusive boutiques and cute coffee shops, London Restaurants and eateries. They are so handy to stop by for a vegetarian lunch or dinner after a long day out.
Mayfair Pizza Co is an Italian restaurant located in Lancashire Court, just off New Bond Street. Set in a cobbled alleyway, the location is absolutely stunning. The restaurant offers Italian cuisine with a delicious menu and wine list to complement your dining experience. The menu also includes vegan and vegetarian options. I love meeting friends here to enjoy a quiet drink and some nibbles.

Manthan
While in Oxford Street or Bond Street if you fancy an Indian meal then I would highly recommend Manthan. A Michelin-starred Indian Chef, Rohit Ghai and his business partner Abhishake Sangwan own the restaurant.
Manthan offers an A la carte menu, tasting menus with food and wine pairings and brunch-sharing menus. With a fantastic selection of wines and spirits to complement the food, the restaurant offers a fantastic drinks menu.
Indian street food is the inspiration for many of the dishes on the menu. Besides bar snacks and sharing plates, you can also enjoy mouth-watering grills, curries, and a selection of the chef’s signature dishes. There are some delicious vegetarian options on the menu to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant for its ambience and service if you are looking for fine dining.

1947
In 1947 London restaurant, Indian food is not the only thing you can enjoy; you can share a dining experience that brings generations and cultures together. It is located in Charlotte Street London, very near Tottenham Court station, making it easy to reach for a pre-theatre meal or drink. The restaurant has decorated the entrance with a beautiful flower wall.
The menu at 1947 is rich and diverse with dishes inspired by all over India. On the menu there are ample vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options available. If you are celebrating a special occasion, a birthday or an anniversary, 1947 is the ideal restaurant to visit.

These are just a few of my favourite London restaurants. Dining out does not have to be fine dining at high-end restaurants. It can also be enjoyed at local small fast food restaurants, pop-ups and market stalls. Eating out is all about experiencing different cuisines in a varied ambience and savouring the taste and flavours in good company.

Ah I LOVE London, but haven’t done the food scene correctly. Both recent times I was there my husband and I simply ate near our hotel since we were so tired and London was added to either the front end or back end of our trip. Definitely bookmarking these for next time!
