If you’re looking for a piece of heaven on earth in Singapore, then Sentosa Island is just the place for you. This tiny island packs so much into itself that you will almost wish your holiday lasted longer to make it possible for you to fit everything in. From thrilling activities which gets your blood racing to relaxing on beaches, Sentosa suits the taste of everyone. Whether touring with friends, family, or solo, be sure you are in for unmatched fun.

Getting to Sentosa: Easy and Exciting

Getting to Sentosa is easy, and there are a couple fun ways to get your adventure underway.

• Cable Car: Start in style with the cable car from Harbour Front. It’s an easy walk from the Harbour Front MRT station to the Tower 2 ticket house where you’ll grab your tickets for the Mount Faber Line. Once you are inside the cable car, just lean back and enjoy your ride. You get fantastic views of Singapore’s skyline, busy harbor, and lush greenery of Sentosa. It is just perfect to set the mood for the day in front of you.
• Sentosa Express Monorail: If you happen to be uncomfortable with height, board the Sentosa Express from VivoCity Mall. It is quick, easy, and gets you right onto the island in minutes.
• Sentosa Boardwalk: If the crowd bothers you, then you may take a leisurely walk down the Sentosa Boardwalk. It is a beautiful stroll that whets your appetite for what is next-breath taking views of the city as one approaches the island.

What to Do in Sentosa: Explore the Best Attractions

Well, once you’re on the island, the fun starts. Sentosa island is divided into varied zones, each offering something unique. Here are some places you should not miss:

1. Universal Studios Singapore

Begin the fun at Universal Studios Singapore. This can be termed as a playground for movie buffs and thrill enthusiasts alike, with one being taken to another world-be it running from dinosaurs in Lost World or taking up the good fight against evil Decepticons in Sci-Fi City. Do not miss the heart-pounding Battlestar Galactica roller coasters or, for that matter, the immersive Transformers 3D ride. It is definitely one of those places where you create lifetime memories.

2. Skyline Luge Sentosa

For something different, try Skyline Luge Sentosa. Visualize hurtling down a twisting, turning track surrounded by lush jungle-at your speed. You are in control of the luge, so take it as fast or slow as you want. Once you have zoomed down to the bottom, catch the Skyride chairlift back up and enjoy the stunning views of the island. It’s a mix of fun and sightseeing

3. Adventure Cove Water Park

When it’s time to cool off, make your way to Adventure Cove Waterpark. It was so much more than a water park with many great rides and a whole bunch of other attractions. Experience Riptide Rocket, Southeast Asia’s first hydro-magnetic coaster, or take the relaxing way out and glide along the lazy river. For an experience as unique as it gets, snorkel over a colourful coral reef in the Rainbow Reef lagoon. With so much to do, it’s easily possible to spend a whole day here.

4. Tanjong Beach

For days when you just want to chill, head to Tanjong Beach. This is the quiet, relaxed part of Sentosa-just what you need when you want to unwind. The beach is beautiful with clear waters and soft sands. It is also home to the Tanjong Beach Club, a hip place where one can get cocktails, eat some great food, and simply dig the music. If you seek to get away from the madding crowd and desire a slower pace of life, this is your spot.

5. Sentosa Golf Club

Joy to all the golf lovers! Sentosa Golf Club provides probably the best venue for golfing in all of Asia. For any golfer, it is a dreamland with two 18-hole championship courses. The Sentosa Course is probably one of the most famous courses around because it actually accommodates one of the most famous tournaments called the SMBC Singapore Open. For the amateur or even non-professional, the exemplary ocean views and verdure make it a great place to spend a day on the greens.

6. Images of Singapore Museum

Follow the timeline back in history at the Images of Singapore Museum. Situated at Imbiah Lookout, the museum offers an interactive trip through colourful Singaporean history. More than just old photographs and artefacts, the real deal here is participating in how Singapore evolved from a mere village to become the throbbing metropolis that it stands today. Perfect for a little culture and history amidst all the fun.

7. Fort Siloso and the Skywalk

For a dose of history, head to Fort Siloso, which is the only conserved coastal fort in Singapore and chock-full of World War II history. Before viewing the fort, head up the high walkway Fort Siloso Skywalk for amazing views on the island and beyond. It’s a tranquil and emotive spot to learn about Singapore’s past, filled with artefacts and restored military equipment to see.

8. Imbiah Trails

If you are an avid nature lover, then Imbiah Trails must not be missed. This winding 2 km trail works its way through some of the richest parts of Sentosa and offers views of local wildlife, as well as lush vegetation. It is an easy walk, suitable for all ages, and is one of the best means of getting some peace and quiet while still appreciating the island’s natural beauty.

9. Palawan Beach

For a family-friendly beach day, head to Palawan Beach, which is popular with children due to its famous suspension bridge linking to the southernmost tip of continental Asia. The water in the shallow lagoon is tranquil and, therefore, perfect for small kids to have fun in without any dangers. In addition, there is ample room for building sandcastles or just simply soaking under the sun.

10. Wings of Time

As the sun goes down, catch the fantastic outdoor show, Wings of Time. An incredible display of sea-facing performance with water, fire, lasers, and music come together in a spectacular way. The shows are at 7:40 PM and 8:40 PM, so it’s an incredible way to spend the end of the day on Sentosa. The tickets will need to be booked ahead of time as this popular show sells quickly.

Tickets for Sentosa’s attractions are easily available online and on-site. Get your cable car tickets from HarbourFront Tower 2, or find attraction tickets from almost every kiosk on the island. If you’re looking for deals, go online via the official Sentosa website, where discounts and package deals are often available.
